The Lord is MY Light and MY salvation, whom shall I fear. The Lord is the light of MY LIFE, of whom shall I be afraid. Psalm 27:1
Fear is a spiritual giant killer…fear is what keeps us from the Promised Land…fear keeps us from witnessing….fear keeps us from operating in the gifts of the Spirit…fear keeps us from doing great things for God…fear is a lie from the enemy.
God tells us that He has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7) What does this really mean? It means that if we really truly have “Faith in God” then fear should have no place in the life of a believer. If we have truly died to ourselves, allowed God complete control, then the government of our lives is upon His shoulders. I don’t fear who is running our government; I don’t fear the downturn of an economy; I don’t fear the prices at the gas pump; I don’t fear the trials and tribulations that come my way. If God is my light and salvation; if He is the light of my life; then faith declares, “I will not fear.”
Today, let’s walk by faith…let’s look at everything through the eyes of faith. Don’t let fear even come near you. Read Psalm 27:1 over and over again, until it is implanted in your mind. Then when the enemy tries to make you believe the lie of fear, you can remind him of who is really in control.
